Today I am grateful for the audition I was invited to. It was a lot of fun.
The original script called for a “Nana”. Upon arrival, though, the director said he thought it could be fun if the role was switched and I played the role originally intended as “Nana”.
The fun was: the role is for a zombie character. I had a lot of fun playing with this – and of course on the way home, I had thoughts like, “Oh – I could have done this…!”. And, “Shoot, I missed this opportunity to play this aspect a bit stronger…”.
And that is the fun of the creative process. It is a process of continual imagination, hopefully always moving to a finer/better output – the best final piece possible.
So: I’m grateful for being called in to an audition. And I am grateful for the fun I had during it.
I may not get the role – but in today’s moment, I killed it!
