A Comforting Time

I am grateful for the memories I have… it is interesting how memories smooth the rough edges of the past. We slip into them like a big comfy king-size bed.

I have memories of great rock n’ roll albums, warm open friendships, beer and weed. Maybe something a bit more for those weekend nights. The world was wide open and each of us was destined for greatness.

I love these frozen moments of time. I see us all smiling, together. Jocks, burnouts, geeks, gangsters—as trite as it may seem, I think we saw in each other the threads of being that held us all together equally.

A lot of time has passed since then. But now and then, I pop on a Pat Travers, Foghat, AC/DC… Aerosmith ROCKS anyone? And for the moment as the music plays, I am easily happy and the world is well.

I am grateful for the times and memories I have from my days at Hayward High.
