Even though I have used the title of, My Wheelhouse, believe it or not, this post is not about boating. This past Sunday I was asked to volunteer at a jazz concert that would benefit the victims of the fires in Los Angeles county. The concert was held at South Coast Winery in Temecula California. I was told that they needed help with ushering people to their seats. If you look up the line up for Jam for LA, I was more than happy to volunteer my time. The line up is literally the who’s who of smooth jazz; established artists and up and comers.
When I arrived at the winery and asked them where they wanted my help, they stated that they wanted me at the ramp at the front of the venue, the ramp that all of the artist would be coming down to get to the stage. I was able to hangout and talk with Freddie Washington, Tommy Davidson, Rick Braun, Steve Oliver, David Benoit, etc.
As my partner, Grace, stated, “I was in my element”. I had an enormously fabulous day!
Everyone had a great time, money was raised and I was able to watch and listen to some great jazz artists. I am truly grateful for that opportunity!
