This past Sunday was the the Fourth of July. I made an effort to greet people by wishing them a “Happy Independence Day”. I want people to remember that it is not the date that we are celebrating, but our country’s declaration of independence from England. I feel that most people forget this. We forget history and rely on social media and other media outlets to educate us and so history is becomes gray and fuzzy.

Yesterday I began a sailing course, learning how to sail a California 20 sail boat. Today I am paying my registration fees for my Fall semester classes at Orange Coast College. I am grateful to be living in a country where education is still somewhat encouraged and not restricted. I am grateful for all of the opportunities the education affords me and as long as I am able to, I will continue to further my education.
