In yesterday’s mail I received my diploma and certificate of achievement for having completed the required courses at Orange Coast College within their Professional Mariner’s Activities program.  I have officially graduated with an AS and certificate as a Professional Mariner.  It took a little over two years but well worth it.  I have met some wonderful people, had some wonderful experiences and I am enjoying my time on the ocean and any waterway.

This upcoming weekend I will be the part of a crew sailing on a Forty-four foot sailboat, racing from Newport Beach, California to Ensenada, Mexico.  This will be my first over-night trip on a sailboat and I am looking forward to it.

I am grateful for all of the new opportunities that this new knowledge has allowed me.
