Last night I was invited to have dinner and attend a L.A. Clippers basketball game with an old family friend. The last time that he and did this together was probably Thirty years ago, when we went to the Improv in Hollywood during the middle of the week, to celebrate my Twenty-fifth birthday. That was a great night, because during the middle of the week, there are no big names performing at the Improv, but that night, Rodney Dangerfield made an unannounced appearance. He picked on me all night, what a great birthday.
Last night, this wonderful friend, his father and my father met in college and became best friends, met at a nice steak house for dinner, we enjoyed a very relaxing, delicious dinner and then walked over to the Staples Center to watch the Clippers get pummeled by the San Antonio Spurs. I was really shocked to see that Greg Popovich is still coaching the Spurs. All in all, it was a great night; a wonderful way to celebrate my Fifty-fifth birthday, and wonderful to catch up with an old friend.
I am grateful for the friendships that my father had accumulated in his life and two of those friendships that translated into me having two great friends in my life.
