A Question of Ethics

The other night, I stopped by Safeway to pick up some dinner… I like the sushi they make there; especially the poke bowls. You get a large portion and it is easily priced.

There was a small container in the case with poke tuna bits—and no price. Just a clear bowl hanging out with the other sushi delectables. (No; not the cat food… on second thought… hey! wait a minute… what’s going on here?!)

So, I took the bowl to the register along with a poke bowl and a couple of other household items.

I mentioned to the cashier that there wasn’t a price on this item and asked if it was for sale? I answered his question with, “In the case with the other sushi items.”

He called the manager over, not knowing what to do. The manager glanced at it and said, “three bucks.”

So, I am grateful for the container of fresh tuna I’ve received for a bargain price and been enjoying the past couple of days.
