I had a cold thought this morning
Came upon me unaware
On the tails of a text message
Saying she wouldn’t be in town
This holiday
And hoped I’d be alright
Celebrating by myself
And the snow fell lightly
On cold, hard cement
As winter winds swept through
The hallowed canyons of
High-rise steel
And I’m still not sure how I feel
But I know I’m not alone
And even winter winds
Only chill to the bone
Another beautiful day has dawned
And I’m grateful for my soul
And the singing of it’s song
