Well the race is over; after sailing over 125 nautical miles and 44 hours the vessel that I was sailing on made it into Ensenada. We came in dead last! About a day behind most of the other competitors.
So I am grateful that we did this race for several reasons:
- We plan on racing the TransPac race together and we needed to make sure that we all could get along for over two weeks.
- We needed to sail 150 continuous nautical miles to qualify for the TransPac race and we accomplished this.
- I need more days on the sea so that I can qualify for my captains license.
So any day on the water is a good day and even though it was slow, it was fun.
