At the end of February I attended the White Coat Ceremony at my sons medical school. He received his white doctors coat and took the oath to be a humane doctor, treating his peers, patience and others with respect and humanity.
I was glad that I made the trip, to watch him begin a new chapter in his life. The studying is rigourus and he does not have much time to do anything but study. He said that he is happy and that he is happiest when he is working in a hospital, helping others; he thrives on the stress and chaos. I am grateful that he is doing what he wants and that I was able to spend two long days, hanging out with him on the island of Grenada, talking about life and his future.
I am grateful that he has a great group of friends there on campus, each supporting each other in their own ways.
