School has begun. Congratulations to the senior class of 2025/2026 who have made it this far; this is their last year in High School. Our school offers transportation to families who are in the North and Southern parts of the county. We offer it for a small amount of money from each family making up the difference ourselves.
This year we had more people request transportation than our vans could hold. I did not want to buy a school bus or begin to manage a DOT / CHP regulated transportation program, but that is what I am doing. To make things easier and logistically sound, I combined two routes into one. This meant that some of our students had to be at their stop thirty minutes earlier than last year. The parents were not happy, not at all!
Fortunately for me, this evening was Back To School Night. I invited all of the parents who use our transportation to arrive and hour earlier so that we could discuss and collectively come up with a solution. They did come and we had a great discussion. I believe that we may have a solution that will work for everyone.
As my brother said in his post last night: Con Muni Cation. It works so much better than holding onto thoughts that are negative, that may hurt a relationship. I am so grateful that I was able to meet with these parents in person and work on a resolution.
