Strength

My grandmother used to tell me that her faith was her strength. She was a strong, loving lady. Having grown up in two of the three largest religions I do not care for the pomp and circumstance of an organized religion. I have always felt that if I wanted to get close to god I could go to the beach and join him in the ocean. I could also sit up on a mountain cliff and talk with him there. I am older, maybe wiser. I now am able to communicate with god where ever I am.

The other day I watched three men genoflex in front of an alter in a small chapel, we were the only people in this chapel. They didn’t do it because others were there to judge them; they did it because they had faith in their lord and they were bowing to him. This makes me ponder. I still do not care for organized religion but there is no denying my faith in one god. I pray to god and I thank god, for all that he has given to me. I am truly blessed. Every day is a lesson and I am grateful to be here on this earth and in this universe to learn.

I am grateful for my faith and my belief in my purpose on this planet. “When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace.” – Jimi Hendrix
