Maybe

This past weekend we celebrated Memorial Day; a day when we remember the soldiers who served for and gave their lives for the freedoms that we citizens of the United States of America enjoy. I feel for the families that have lost loved ones in any war or “action” that the U.S. has been involved in. It was a day of reflection, this past Monday.

Even though the memories are somber, I had a very joyous weekend. Thursday my partner, Grace, flew into Long Beach; she and I enjoyed a wonderful dinner together. On Friday we went sailing with some friends on their thirty-six foot sailboat. It was a beautiful day and a very enjoyable sail. That evening we drove down to my younger sister’s house so that we could take care of her dog, Ford, Friday through Sunday. Saturday we joined some members of our Yacht Club, down in Dana Point harbor, where one couple was having a ceremony for the renaming of their boat. I then watched the UEFA Cup final with some other members on their boat. Saturday night Grace and I attended the Hiroshima concert down at La Costa. What a great performance! Sunday we relaxed a little bit before driving back to the Long Beach Area. We finished the weekend by going to an IMAX theater to watch Top Gun / Maverick. It was a fitting way to end Memorial Day.

I am so grateful for weekends like this past one! Weekends where time moves slowly and I am able to enjoy my time with a wonderful person and or people. I am truly blessed and I am grateful for that as well.
