For the past three years I have been fortunate enough to have been nominated and selected to officiate on CIF North Coast Section Soccer Playoffs.   This year I am officiating on two games, the first round, last night, and the quarter-finals.  Last night’s game was a good game; even though the home team, the higher seeded team, won 3 – 0.  Both teams played well and it was a fun game to be a part of. I believe that the three of us who officiated the game did a great job of letting the ladies play and on several controversial calls we were all in great positions to see the play and make the calls with confidence.  On Saturday night I will be officiating on a quarter-final game for the boys. I am anticipating another great game.

I am grateful to have been chosen to officiate on playoff games three years in a row; and I am grateful to work with other great officials on these games. Working with a great officiating crew really does make the games more enjoyable to work and watch. I love the game of soccer/futbol and being an official, well it is the best seat in the house!
