This past weekend in the United States of America we celebrated Labor Day. I really am not too familiar with the history of Labor Day, other than most people get the Monday off, so they have a three day weekend. I guess that we all need a break every now and then. So I made plans for both Sunday and Monday to try and enjoy my time off.

Sunday I visited my Godmother up in Seattle; about a 40 minute drive from where I am staying at my hotel. We spent the afternoon walking from her apartment down to Union Lake Park and back as well as having lunch together. It has been over at least ten years since I last saw her; so it was a really great afternoon. The sun was shining and it was just a beautiful day, walking, talking and watching the boats out on the “Lake”.

On Monday, I decided that I wanted to play some golf. So I went to the local, public golf course, rented a set of clubs and played nine holes, in the afternoon. Again, the sun was shining and a bald eagle was flying around overhead. It is a beautiful golf course in Tukwila Washington. It was a really enjoyable day! I probably enjoyed it as much as I did, because I finished with the same ball that I started with.

So today I am very grateful that I had a very relaxing and enjoyable two days off, with the sun shining and just beauty all around me. It was weekends like this past one, that make me think…I might be able to live here. Then I think….um….nope!
