This morning I am grateful that the home in NC is sold. It isn’t a done deal as I write this; however, it does seem eminent as i signed paperwork for the title company last night.
I have a lot of wonderful, warm memories from there… a rope swing hung in the living-room, snow on Bodhi’s first birthday in NC at her request, a thanksgiving feast to end all feasts — and a Christmas that followed. There are some frightening memories as well — the warmth and friendship far outweigh the memories of struggle and fear.
It feels good to lay this gently to rest, and I do hope it does so. As I mentioned, it isn’t a completed task. We bit off more then we could chew — and held it for a long time. There is merit to that. It could have gone really wrong.
So, today I am grateful for a home sold.
