When you work for yourself, either as an independent contractor or owning your own business, getting started is not easy.  Unless you are already independently wealthy, you have to really budget your spending; you may bill your customers on time, but they may not always pay you on time.  To this point, that matters not to your vendors; you need to pay them on time.  You may think that you will be able to spend more time with your family, because you are able to set your own hours, right?  Wrong!!  You are a slave to your business, because in the beginning, if you are not working, you are not being paid.  So to say that there is some stress when you make the decision to exit the mainstream and go up your own tributary, is an understatement.

I would not have it any other way!!!  I am so happy right now!  So I am grateful for making this decision to go out on my own; but the reality is, I am not on my own.  I have peers that I work with that are extremely supportive.  I have friends who continue to encourage me; and I have my family who seem to be understanding and supportive of me as well.  For all of them, I am extremely grateful!!
