Today my daughter and I decided to take a day off from school and work.  We drove over to Ocean Beach in San Francisco where we met up with my younger sister’s husband, Brian.  Brian is in the middle of a sponsored tour cruising the California coastline, starting in San Juan Capistrano coming north to the Golden Gate Bridge and then finishing up back in Southern California.  Brian and his friend JJ built a 1929 Erskine racer together and now they are bringing it up the coastline, stopping in several spots, taking photos of them in the car and surfing some nice breaks as well.  There is also a film crew traveling with them, documenting the whole trip.

We had a great time!  It was an absolutely beautiful day, the sun was shining, there was a little breeze and there were some great little waves to be ridden.  Brian and JJ had their surfboards tied down to the back of the Erskine and were driving around ocean beach, going from their motel to the beach and then up to Fort Point, where they surfed under the Golden Gate Bridge.  Brian was absolutely stoked, surfing next to and under the Golden Gate Bridge.  His last wave ridden was a little 2 to 3 foot wave that was just perfect.  It really made Brian’s whole day.

The car was a show stopper!  People would slow down in their cars to look at it, some people would stop as the walked by and ask about it; we even had one Muni Train driver get out of the train, walk over with his cell phone and take a bunch of photos of the car.  It really was a great day.  Jessica and I had a great time and I am really grateful that we decided to take the day off and join the fun.
