These past two days have been very eventful for me personally; and through it all, I have come to a realization. I am very good at what I do, professionally! There are very few people, that I have met, that are able to manage more than one business at any one given time. These past two days I have been managing a full physical inventory at a warehouse, where there are close to 4000 locations that need to be counted; we have nine people counting and we have finished early, with very little overtime. So what is the big deal? At the same time, one of my other customers sends me an email yesterday asking me if I would be able to ship 27 pallets from Northern California to Southern California; they need to be at the delivery location at 8 a.m. on Tuesday morning. This is easy! It is easy, except that a 53 foot truck won’t fit into the delivery location, it has to be done on smaller trucks. At the same time, I am competing against other companies to make this happen. I spent a lot of time on the phone, both talking and sending and responding to emails, (thank goodness for “Smart Phones”), all while I am standing in a warehouse, counting product.
Inventory is going to finish early, we won the bid to move the shipment and I made all of this happen…..
…..with the help of a wonderful support team. The gentlemen that are working with me in the warehouse, the operations support team at Baseline, Steven Katz at 3PL Central and the people at Alto Systems. We all worked together to get things done and it all comes together! I love it and I am grateful for it! It makes it so much easier for me to manage. Thank you, all of you!
