Well, fall is just a couple of days away and summer is almost over.  We are heading into the time of the year that I dislike the most.  I  am not a big fan of the fall; so what do I have to be grateful for?

Well let’s start with things that happen in the fall that I will enjoy:

The Dodgers clinched the National League West tonight and will be in the playoffs; the Oakland A’s will soon follow, on the American League side of things.  I am Grateful for that.

I am enjoying soccer season as well; refereeing and watching the English Premier league.  Pumpkin pie is just around the corner and so is Thanksgiving, I guess that I am grateful for that as well.

I spoke to three good friends today, three different phone calls; three friends who I haven’t spoken to in a while.  I really enjoyed catching up with each and every one of them.  I am grateful to have such good friends in my life.

It is also the beginning of Erosion Control Season, here in California; a time of “fire drills” and last-minute deliveries to all over the state happening at the drop of a hat.  Well a meeting that I had arranged a couple of weeks ago with an independent truck driving company, paid off today when someone pulled the fire alarm.  Plan ahead, be prepared, it is the Boy Scout way and well, I was a Boy Scout.  So I am grateful for that as well.

Yep, I may not enjoy the Fall as much as I do Summer, but I do have things that I am grateful for.
