it is may day—a day to celebrate Spring in her most powerful form…

winter is behind us and the heat of summer is not yet upon us

(it isn’t? then we are in for a bloody hot time…)

take a look at the nurture of nature—green sprouts rise up to the light through dark, rich soil
pale, soft roots reach down—bringing in nutrients to strengthen the body and character of the core…

deep in the core of our mother is a great heat; destructive potentially—it is the power from which green, nectared hills rise up above cool wells and lakes

it is our sex
it is our spirit

and the prophets have always held a deep strength—atomic in the anger and passion from which their vision rises and holds…

i am grateful for all those that hold their anger, forging it to a positive vision

in my youth, as i was just about to cross into my teens… i participated in an “anger process” at a camp in the coastal mountains of california… all participants were encouraged to dive deeply into the wells of anger within… safely held by the counselors and leaders of the camp. safe in the sense that to the best of everyone’s ability involved—no one would get hurt. we were pushed—and we let go… anger rising up like fire to dry grass and trunks… anger burning in eyes and hearts… looking to destroy and lay waste to all that was around…

and then, when it was over… when all the anger had been exposed and expunged…

then there was only love

must we go through anger and waste to find our love? i don’t recommend it

blessed are those who know their love without needing to know anger. they are peace. they are hope. they are joy.
