Those of you who have been following this blog for a least a year, will know that the Summer time is my favorite time of the year.  I love the warmth of the sun, sitting on a beach or by the pool.  Friends and family over, grilling, laughing and having a good time.  Well today is December 27th, nowhere near the summer here in the Northern Hemisphere.  As a matter of fact it is the very beginning of the winter; yuck!

That being said, today was an absolutely magnificent day!  My daughter wanted to go to the beach, so we packed up three of our four dogs and drove the 45 minutes to Half Moon Bay (dogs are allowed on the city beach).  Driving across the San Mateo bridge, San Francisco stood crystal clear in the distance, fantastic!  The beach was sunny, but cold and windy, still beautiful.  Huge waves crashing, with a perfect curl.  People were there enjoying it, all bundled up.  I believe that my daughter was the only person running around in shorts and then her bikini bottom, once here shorts became wet from the ocean.  Our dogs had a great time running up and down the beach, chasing each other and saying hello to anyone who would let them.

Now I am back in my home office, looking out the window, enjoying the view of the vineyard, surrounded by the green hills.  The sky is crystal clear and the hills look fake.  It is so beautiful.  No Winter is not my new favorite time of the year.  It is still the Summer, but it was an absolutely beautiful day; and that should be acknowledged as well as appreciated.

So for all of this…..I am grateful!
